Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Machine Service and Repair Specialist is a multi-skilled worker who services and repairs a range of capacitor, Lithium-Ion capacitor and battery Winding and testing machines. The successful candidate must have knowledge in electronic, mechanical, fluid power/pneumatic systems, electrical, Program Logic Controller applications (PLC) programming, automated machines, and robotic systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • A broad knowledge of electrical services and capable of working from machine design drawings, specifications and maintenance instructions including electrical schematics.
  • May be required to order replacement parts. Inspects completed repairs.
  • Experience using PLC software to troubleshoot or repair machinery.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting, repair and refurbishment of machines.
  • Knowledge and understanding of electrical; mechanical; pneumatics; and PLC logic
  • Will be required to conduct training internally and as required by customer.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work in confined spaces and to carry/lift items over 40lbs.
  • May be required to adjust weekly schedule to meet departmental needs.
  • Willing to work overtime and off-shift as needed.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot machinery or mechanical equipment and make decisions on how to repair.
  • Ensure that all safety procedures are followed.
  • Must have knowledge of NEC and NFPA 70E regulations.
  • This position requires 30-40% travel, to include overnight stays in and out of state at customer locations.
  • This position requires work at jobsites and customer interactions. Must be able to effectively communicate.
  • Must be able to prioritize workload with minimal day to day direction.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Mechatronics Degree is desired.
  • Knowledge and understanding of TQM Autonomous Maintenance; SMED and 5S a big plus.
  • Well versed in machine and work area safety and LOTO protocols.
  • A team player.
  • Willing to work irregular hours if called upon to do so.
  • Good planning, communication, and organization skills.
  • Ability to work towards the continuous improvement of product quality.
