If youre excited by the prospect of creating something magical from scratch, then read on. What the role is all about: We're seeking an Engineer Platforms & Integrations (2-3 years experience). You will be joining a group of wonderful people and function in a distributed team and solve complex problems that have far reaching benefits to the business and Tech community. While no two days are likely to be the same, your typical responsibilities will include: Designing, coding, testing, and deploying new data management tools and systems. Supporting a robust platform for the business by building monitoring and observability, resiliency, and scalability into all our tools and systems. Following agile software development practices such as test-driven development, continuous delivery and pair programming. Sharing responsibility for all operational aspects of the software that we build, in support of our you build it; you run it philosophy where dev-ops is a part of everyday life. Learning we are constantly learning together, mentoring each other and striving to do things better Working with direct leadership to understand business priorities and communicate technical options, review and report on progress and express ideas. Who we are looking for: Our ideal candidate will have skills in some of the following areas, whilst demonstrating both a desire and commitment to learning others. Proficiency in one or more mainstream programming languages, preferably Python, Java, SQL and Go. Understanding of design patterns, modern software development techniques and continuous delivery strategies. Exposure to data engineering concepts and associated technologies such as Airflow, BigQuery Kafka, batch and real-time data pipelines, ELT, and SQL. Exposure to Linux and shell scripting. Experience with DevOps practices and techniques, such as Docker and CI/CD tools. Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with business stakeholders. Ability to manage the competing demands of multiple projects in a timely manner. Ability to work collaboratively and autonomously in a fast paced environment. Skills in platform engineering, including designing and building scalable and resilient platforms. Experience with integration build processes, ensuring seamless integration of various data management and processing tools. Willingness to learn new and complex technologies, and ability to share knowledge with the team. 2 years of experience working with platform and data engineering environments. Bonus Points for: Experience in using and managing Cloud infrastructure in AWS and/or GCP. Experience with Infrastructure as Code techniques, particularly AWS CloudFormation, AWS CDK and Terraform. Exposure to platform engineering concepts or developer experience & tooling. Knowledge of SRE and observability best practices. What we offer: A hybrid and flexible approach to working.
