Job Description

The purpose of the position of 12 Step Coordinator is to take clients through the beginning stages of their 12 step programming, this ranges anywhere from taking an honest 1st 2nd and 3rd step, to completing an honest and thorough 4th step, all the way through step 12. They are available daily to assist clients with inventory instructions, 12 step recovery-based meetings, and be their spiritual guides through treatment. 12 Step Coordinators work on a one-on-one basis with clients on a weekly basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Meet with clients at least once a week to mentor them in the 12-step process. Monitor the completion of assignments, hold clients accountable for their actions and guide them in the application of spiritual principles to their daily lives
  • Coordinate client 5th steps
  • Provide the team with 12 step progress reports for each client weekly within 24 hours from meeting with them
  • Facilitate Morning Check-in, Big Book, writing groups, completing group notes and other groups when needed
  • Managing and coordinating Big Book pace and client tracking through current communication method
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • The ability to make decisions and find alternative solutions to problems
  • Attend and participate in Recovery Planning Meeting and 12 Step Meetings
  • Outline step 4, deliver resentment instructions, fear inventory, and sex inventory at appropriate times
  • Introduce clients to the amends process, tenth step inventory, meditation, and sponsorship guidelines
  • Progression timeline and current buddy list
  • Responsible for immense client engagement

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalency required
  • Experience in working through the 12-step program of AA
  • At least 1 year in recovery, working all 12 steps
  • Actively participating in Sponsorship in home community
  • Community verbal assignment check, organization and follow through
  • Communicating effectively in written and oral form
  • Time management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Must meet then maintain all pre-employment requirements which includes reference checks, applicable state, and national required background screening, 12 panel urine drug screen, DMV check, insurance (if applicable), and license/credential verifications
