POSITION OVERVIEW

The
Human Resources Manager is a key individual contributor that will lead and direct the Human Resources (HR) department and include HR Business Partnership with the company's leadrship teams. This is a hands-on role with responsibilities for central functions of HR including administering compensation, benefit programs, employee engagement, wellness, performance management, recruitment and onboarding, and administration of company policies and practices.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES


Human Resources

  • Oversees the on-site human resource functions and effectively interacts with all employees
  • Manages and mentors the human resources staff of 2, including overseeing the daily workflow of the department
  • Drives the recruitment process, which includes interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of qualified job applicants for both exempt and non-exempt roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
  • Advances the company employee wellness program; establishes plans and events that promote employee wellness and health

Compensation and Benefits

  • Leads the compensation program; evaluating internal salaries and wages to ensure pay equity, and conducts wage surveys to ensure market competitiveness
  • Manages the company benefits programs such as: life, medical, dental, STD & LTD insurances, flexible spending program, retirement plan, PTO, leaves of absence, and EAP. Recommends changes and improvements as needed
  • Monitors and supports the company retirement plan; serves as a member of the investment policy committee and advises on changes and improvements within the plan

HRIS Operations

  • Manages the use and integrity of the HRIS as a tool for enhanced services and reporting for supporting business activities
  • Provides accurate and timely report generation to assist internal customers with their data requirements. Partners with our HRIS system provider to enhance and drive internal
  • Manages and oversees the payroll functions by reviewing the weekly payroll to ensure accuracy, interface with employees to respond to payroll questions, extracting payroll information, and updating employee information in the system

HR Compliance

  • Ensures company policies and procedures are compliant with federal, state, and local regulations including, but not limited to ADA, EEO, ERISA, FLSA, FMLA, HIPAA, and OHSA along with related compliance filings for accuracy and timeliness
  • Manages the workers compensation and company safety program. Responsible for accident investigation and preparation of workers compensation claims
  • Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, investigations, and termination of employees in accordance with company policies. Reviews all disciplinary action for fairness and consistency
  • Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within the company
  • Contracts with outside vendors to provide safety and benefit consultation, training resources, vending services, and recruiting services
  • Recommends and generates new policies and procedures. Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures and programs
Requirements:

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field required
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in a human resources environment, with business partnership experience in a manufacturing setting
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience leading a team of human resources professionals
  • PHR or SPHR designation preferred but not required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Leadership characteristics of self-motivation, confidence, intelligence, team-oriented attitude, and a high level of positive energy
  • Proven ability to manage highly confidential HR information
  • Demonstrate a high degree of organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience and knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
  • Solid computer proficiency and technical aptitude with business software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and HRIS systems

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time.
  • Frequent computer work.
  • Lift and move up to 40 lbs. occasionally.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.


Pay, Work Schedule, & Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $115,000 - $130,000/year

Compensation details: 115000-130000 Yearly Salary
