Description:

The Medical Equipment Planner is a remote position and is responsible for successfully developing and delivering medical equipment design packages as scoped for both government and private sector healthcare capital projects. This role ensures client and design team satisfaction throughout the planning process in meeting clinical, operational and project objectives. The Medical Equipment Planner ensures all planning activities are performed with complete data accuracy, in a manner consistent with documented processes, while developing and maintaining relationships through strong communication, leadership and team collaboration.


Major Duties:

  • Supports and collaborates with entire team throughout the project lifecycle by providing appropriate equipment information and deliverables. This team includes, but is not limited to the Program Manager, Project Manager, Design Manager, Equipment Planners, Space Planner, Field Operations staff, and support staff.
  • Contributes to developing project staffing and work plans, including deliverables and due dates.
  • Creates or contributes to accurate project status reports as needed.
  • Establishes communication network between client user groups, facility managers, program & project managers, architects, engineers, construction managers, space planners, third-party consultants and vendors.
  • Develops and maintains active open items list with follow-ups and resolutions as required.
  • Coordinate with BIM design team to accurately coordinate medical equipment locations and placement.
  • Collaborates with equipment planning support team and assigns work as appropriate, along with follow up on all assigned day-to-day tasks.
  • Familiarity with various vendor installation requirements and installation site visit requirements. Actively participate in on-site equipment installation visits as needed.
  • Familiarity with wearing appropriate PPE as required for active construction project site visits.
  • Participates in on-site and remote design meetings during all phases of the project, while leading the medical equipment planning components and verifying equipment requirements with the project team and end users.
  • Develop meeting minutes for equipment focused design meetings.
  • Successfully develop and contribute to various design submittals per project schedules.
  • Actively participates in on-site inventory process as needed as well as data management and equipment evaluation post inventory.
  • Compiles medical equipment cost estimates and budgets throughout the duration of the project.
  • Participates in the development of specifications and design submittals such as ASE files, vendor supplied cut sheets and drawings, installation guides and O&M manuals.
  • Assists the team with decisions, evaluations and demonstrations of medical equipment technology.
  • Actively participate in management of the procurement process with the project manager and/or field operations team.
  • Solicits vendor required submittals, drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinates and participates in vendor presentations, site visits and pricing negotiations at the client's request.
  • Plans equipment on a room-by-room level using internal proprietary software or industry shared software.
  • Conducts quality assurance efforts to identify design conflicts associated with medical equipment and facilitates a resolution.
  • Compiles, maintains and distributes action item list associated with medical equipment decisions.
  • Evaluate and incorporate client standards into equipment selections or recommendations.
  • Obtains client approval and customer sign-off for selected medical equipment.
  • Participating in new proposal process as needed.
  • Complete payroll and expense reports accurately and on time.
  • Maintains accountability with attendance and work production whether working in-office or remote work locations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration or clinical area of expertise.
  • Proven experience in medical equipment planning with at least 5+ years of medical equipment planning experience or related project work.
  • Local Denver presence preferred.
  • Mixture of DoD and private sector work preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of employees and clients.
  • Ability to multitask and communicate in high pressure situations.
  • Excellent conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of architectural design processes and documentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural programming, design, scheduling and specification documents.
  • Attending site visits at various stages of the projects.
  • Leading / participating in client meetings.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Basic accounting principles.
  • Experience with Bluebeam software preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Revit design software preferred.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership awareness, methods and techniques for mentoring and coaching junior level staff.
  • Travel is required.

  • Ability to bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items while working at assigned desk area.
