How you will make an impact:
The Staff Development/Clinical Education Specialist plays a crucial role at Lutheran Home by assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and monitoring education and training programs for all departments, with a primary focus on Nursing. You will collaborate closely with the Nursing Services team to assess clinical education needs and ensure compliance with JCAHO, CMS, and IDPH requirements through the development of competency programs. You will conduct comprehensive nursing department orientations for new team members and serve as the lead facilitator during these sessions, ensuring that new hires receive thorough training. You will also provide ongoing mentorship and support to new nursing hires beyond the orientation period, fostering continued professional growth and ensuring high standards of care within the organization.
Schedule: This position is full-time Monday-Friday with on-call rotation availability
What you will need:
- Current Illinois Nursing license required. RN license preferred.
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred.
- 3 years of supervisory experience required.
- At least two years of experience in planning and leading educational and job training activities, adult education, or training and development required.
- Knowledge of laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care required.
- Strong clinical competencies, presentation skills, planning, training, project management, and coordination skills required.
- Must be able to comprehend and perform oral and written instructions and procedures.
- Experience working in a long-term care facility preferred.
