Boiler Operator

A Tissue Manufacturing company in Kempton Park is looking for a Boiler Operator Matric and technical qualifications and 5 years' experience within a manufacturing industry operating and maintaining a coal fired boiler. Duties includes: Ensure uninterrupted supply of steam to the Paper Mills on a 24-hour basis. Ensure all boiler and auxiliary equipment are in a good condition and running efficiently. Control and maintain C1 and C2 boiler pressure and TDS levels Manage Water softeners, Brine tank, Boiler chemicals and ensures it runs at the correct levels Control the Hot well temperature and Level Manage all coal deliveries to site to ensure coal bunker are kept at the correct level. Ensure the coal is off loaded and stored correctly. Record all coal deliveries. Ensure efficient running of the coal conveyor system Boot blow boilers at least 3 times per shift Manage and record various aspects of boiler operation in order to ensure that boilers are operating efficiently. Record Boiler readings on an hourly basis De-ash boilers. Remove ash from Grid arrestors. Empty ash trolleys. Manage ash removal from site. Clean all trenches, blowdown and ash pit on a regular basis. Ensure proper housekeeping is done in the Boiler MCC room, Control room, Boiler house and surrounding areas Report any plant defects and note in the logbook and defect log sheet Complete daily log sheets Check and confirm that Junior operators and assistants are performing their duties Take any instruction given by Management
