Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Special Education Teacher to provide specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities. The successful candidate will develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), collaborate with general education teachers, and foster an inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learning needs. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities. Provide individualized and small group instruction based on each students unique learning needs and goals. Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other professionals to support students' academic, social, and emotional growth. Use a variety of instructional strategies and technologies to meet diverse learning styles and needs. Monitor and track student progress, adjusting instructional methods as necessary. Manage classroom behavior through effective, positive strategies, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment. Maintain accurate records of student performance and IEP documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations. Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and parent-teacher conferences. Stay updated on special education laws, policies, and best practices. Qualifications Education: Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field (Masters degree preferred). Licensure and Certifications (Required in Pennsylvania): Pennsylvania Special Education Certification: Special Education PK-8 or Special Education 7-12 (depending on grade level). Instructional Certification: Valid Pennsylvania Instructional I or II certification in Special Education. Clearances: FBI Criminal Background Check Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check Child Abuse History Clearance Additional Skills: Knowledge of Pennsylvanias Special Education Standards and IEP development. Proficiency with assistive technology and other adaptive tools. Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with parents, staff, and other stakeholders. Experience in developing and implementing behavior intervention plans. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with students with various disabilities (e.g., learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities). Training in positive behavior support and interventions. Bilingual or proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is a plus. What We Offer Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.
