This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with a strong background in banking and insurance to leverage their technical accounting expertise in a dynamic environment. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial reporting, driving technical accounting solutions, and supporting key initiatives within the banking and insurance sectors. Duties: Provide technical accounting support to various departments, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards (IFRS, SA GAAP). Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Offer technical advice on complex accounting matters, particularly in relation to banking and insurance. Support the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements. Review and analyze financial transactions, ensuring proper accounting treatment and timely reporting. Drive improvements in accounting processes, contributing to the efficiency of financial reporting. Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies to address any technical issues. Stay up to date with changes in accounting standards and regulations relevant to the banking and insurance industry. Qualifications & skills: A qualified CA(SA) with a solid background in banking and insurance, in-depth knowledge of IFRS and other relevant accounting standards.
