Job & Company Descriptions A prominent player in the transport and logistics industry is seeking an experienced and driven Accountant to join their finance team. This is a permanent opportunity for a skilled accountant to contribute to the companys ongoing growth and operational success. As an Accountant, you will support financial operations, ensure accurate reporting, and work on improving financial processes across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a BCom Accounting degree, with proven experience in financial reporting, reconciliation, and taxation. Duties: Assist in the preparation, analysis, and completion of financial statements in accordance with accounting standards. Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies. Perform balance sheet reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of all financial records. Maintain and reconcile the Fixed Asset register. Implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency of financial operations. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and internal company policies. Support external processes by providing necessary documentation and explanations for audits and reporting. Assist with the preparation and submission of statutory returns (e.g., CIPC). Contribute to cost analysis, margin reviews, and financial forecasting. Assist in managing accounts payable and receivable functions. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to streamline financial reporting and improve overall processes. Ensure adherence to company financial policies and procedures, identifying areas for improvement. Qualifications & skills: Bcom Accounting degree is required. Proven experience in preparing and analyzing financial statements. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and VAT compliance.
