About Sheridan, Oregon & our local plant operations

Sheridan is located 13 miles southwest of McMinnville, Oregon, halfway between the Oregon Coast and the Portland metro area. Our 37 acre manufacturing site in Sheridan specializes in the production of high quality utility poles. The local Stella-Jones plant team is made up of 40 dedicated manufacturing professionals across a variety of roles. Position Details

The Safety Supervisor at the Stella-Jones manufacturing plant in Sheridan, Oregon is responsible for ensuring Health and Safety compliance at the facility. This is an onsite role and reports to the Plant Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Health and Safety facility inspections
• Health and Safety facility audits
• Health and Safety facility training
• Health and Safety policy, programs, and procedures implementation
• Perform accident and incident investigation as necessary
• Provides directions to other department supervisors and plant employees in regards to health and safety matters
• Accurate and timely Health and Safety reporting and recordkeeping
• Occasional travel to EHS training events
• May be responsible for additional plant operations
• Participates and contributes to company safety program
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Two (2) or more years years or Safety/EHS consulting or facility Safety/EHS management in a manufacturing industry preferred
• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Science or related field a plus
• Proficiency with computers (specifically Microsoft Office)
• Problem solving skills
• Critical writing and Public speaking skills
