Job Overview
The General Superintendent will manage and oversee multiple projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. The role involves leading and managing field supervisors, foremen, coordinating resources, and maintaining constant communication with the operations team to ensure compliance with Pilot Foundation Services’ policies and procedures. The selected candidate for this position will report directly to VP Operations.
An ideal candidate is experienced with leading crews and holds expert knowledge of foundation drilling and power transmission construction including slurry processing, permanent/temporary casing, rock drilling, direct embedment poles, substation foundations, ROW logistics and concrete design & construction.
General Superintendent will have field supervisory responsibility and spend time in the field regularly. From time-to-time the General Superintendent may be assigned direct operational leadership of projects in the field deemed to be exceptionally complex and/or high-profile.
Responsibilities
- Ensure thorough knowledge of contract requirements for each project
- Manager crew production schedules and evaluate progress milestones weekly for each project, supervisor and foreman.
- Confirm that all necessary labor, permits, tools, equipment, PPE, and other essential resources are provided for each project and maintain sufficient operating supplies.
- Ensure that supervisors, foremen and crew members are adequately trained in line with client requirements and Pilot Foundation Services standards.
- Monitor and ensure that project execution aligns with Pilot Foundation Services Safety Standards. Collaborate with the Safety Director and representatives to ensure job site and employee safety.
- Oversee project execution to meet Pilot Foundation Services Process and Quality standards, ensuring QA/QC checks are performed and product quality standards are achieved.
- Receive, review and approve project schedules and resource requirement from crew supervisors.
- Coordinate crew and resource scheduling to ensure appropriate work force, tools, equipment and materials are allocated.
- Additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications and Required Skills
- Strong critical-thinking, problem solving, analytical and organization skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and prioritization skills
- Expert knowledge of foundation construction means and methods
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- 10+ years of experience in foundation drilling and transmission construction or similar
- Self-driven and goal oriented
