Your opportunity at a glance

The WSLCB Information Technology Services Division is announcing an exciting opportunity for Salesforce Administrator - (IT System Administration - Journey) atOlympia, WA. This project appointment is anticipated to last through June 30, 2027.This position reports to the LEEADS Systems Administrator in the WSLCB's Information Technology Services Division (ITSD).

The position serves and complements the WSLCB's mission and goals by ensuring that critical business systems are designed, developed, secured, and maintained to support the execution of the agency's mission. The Salesforce Application team consists of the WSLCB's Salesforce and Azure application developers, system administrators and business analysts.

In this role, you will be responsible for the administration, configuration, maintenance and minor development of Licensing, Education, Enforcement and Administrative Data Systems (LEEADS) Salesforce components and applications. You will plan and define the current and future enterprise licensing of Salesforce solutions, participate in design of multiple sub-applications for solutions and integrations. You will also coordinate, build, and document enhancements and maintenance of applications and all inter-system and inter-agency interactions with Salesforce.

Duties

Some of the duties you will perform are:
  • Design, build, test, document, and train technical staff on high-performance, reusable, and reliable Salesforce components, modules, and applications using the most appropriate Salesforce automation tool (Visual flow, Lightning component, Apex code, etc.) and using best practices as well as business needs using Agile methodology.
  • Build solutions using configuration, administration, and some custom development on the Salesforce platform. Adopt a configuration first approach in building Salesforce-based solutions using Service Cloud and other Salesforce Cloud offerings.
  • Configure and develop custom objects, workflows, triggers, migration tools, SOQL and REST-based web services.
  • Securely Integrate Service Cloud solution with other systems using integration tools supported by Salesforce.
  • Analyze, define, and document requirements that translate customer needs into well architected Salesforce technology solutions that support the agency's strategic goals and best leverage Salesforce.
  • Effectively mentor, train, coach, counsel, and motivate system administrators and other technical staff on the Salesforce platform to consistently achieve high performance and efficiency.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of architectural application components, APIs and web services for re-usable components.
  • Provide system analysis, consult, supervise, and support system failures of small to complex information systems and integrations independently.
  • Plan, design, document, review, and administer configurations to create, enhance or fix application components.
  • Coordinate with COTS and SaaS vendors, application administrators and technical staff on defining technical integration, logging, reporting and security requirements, implementations, upgrades, enhancements, and security patches.
  • Research, write and propose enterprise application architecture and configuration standards based on industry best practices for design, configuration, and development on Salesforce.
  • Ensure all components and features have been tested, verified, and approved in appropriate Salesforce sandbox environment.
  • Participate in establish agency standard Salesforce administration tools and framework.
  • Provide functional architecture strategy and guidance for all Salesforce rollouts.
  • Ensure functional Salesforce life cycle architecture strategy, standards and guidance for all Salesforce rollouts are designed, documented, communicated, and updated on a regular basis.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Four (4) years of demonstrated experience as an application architect.

AND

Progressive experience and knowledge in following areas:
  • Salesforce automation tools, e.g., Visual Flow, JSON, etc.
  • Implementing system changes using Agile methodologies.
  • Supporting and maintaining a Salesforce platform using a configuration first approach.
  • SOQL, RESTful API based web services, and Service Cloud.
  • Software Development Life Cycle standards and methodologies.
  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining Salesforce systems within an enterprise architecture framework.
  • Developing, designing, reviewing, and deploying configurations.
  • Applying contract management principles to third-party vendor support/service agreements.
  • Applying National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) security guidelines to daily operating activities.
Preferred/Desired Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree or above from an accredited college or university in Data Science, Information Technology, Web Development, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Working experience in, and demonstrable advanced-level knowledge and experience in .NET Framework, MVC, C#.
  • Progressive experience in, and demonstrable advanced-level knowledge and experience in HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Angular.
  • Have 4+ years of experience directly working with of the Salesforce product suite, including Sales, Service, Community, Marketing, Financial and Community Clouds, Public Sector Foundation.
  • Current Salesforce Advance Administrator or Architect Certification.
  • Recent experience in building Lightning applications and using Lightning Design System, Lightning Implementation(s).
  • Experience with Git and Salesforce DX deployment life cycle.
  • Working-level knowledge of Cloud Architecture and recent experience developing using PaaS, SaaS, IaaS with focus on scalability, security, and integration challenges.

Insurance Benefits

Retirement and Deferred Compensation
State Employees are members of the Washington Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS). New employees have the option of two employer contributed retirement programs. For additional information, check out the Department of Retirement Systems' web site.

Employees also have the ability to participate in the Deferred Compensation Program (DCP). This is a supplemental retirement savings program (similar to an IRA) that allows you control over the amount of pre-tax salary dollars you defer as well as the flexibility to choose between multiple investment options.

Social Security
All state employees are covered by the federal Social Security and Medicare systems. The state and the employee pay an equal amount into the system.

Public Service Loan Forgiveness
If you are employed by a government or not-for-profit organization, and meet the qualifying criteria, you may be eligible to receive student loan forgiveness under the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.

Holidays
Full-time and part-time employees are entitled to paid holidays and one paid personal holiday per calendar year.

Note: Employees who are members of certain Unions may be entitled to additional personal leave day(s), please refer to position specific Collective Bargaining Agreements for more information.

Full-time employees who work full monthly schedules qualify for holiday compensation if they are employed before the holiday and are in pay status for at least 80 nonovertime hours during the month of the holiday; or for the entire work shift preceding the holiday.

Part-time employees who are in pay status during the month of the holiday qualify for the holiday on a pro-rata basis. Compensation for holidays (including personal holiday) will be proportionate to the number of hours in pay status in the month to that required for full-time employment, excluding all holiday hours. Pay status includes hours worked and time on paid leave.

Sick Leave
Full-time employees earn eight hours of sick leave per month. Overtime eligible employees who are in pay status for less than 80 hours per month, earn a monthly proportionate to the number of hours in pay status, in the month to that required for full-time employment. Overtime exempt employees who are in pay status for less than 80 hours per month do not earn a monthly accrual of sick leave.

Sick leave accruals for part-time employees will be proportionate to the number of hours in pay status, in the month to that required for full-time employment. Pay status includes hours worked, time on paid leave and paid holiday.

Vacation (Annual Leave)
Full-time employees accrue vacation leave at the rates specified in (1) or the applicable collective bargaining agreement (CBA). Full-time employees who are in pay status for less than 80 nonovertime hours in a month do not earn a monthly accrual of vacation leave.

Part-time employees accrue vacation leave hours in accordance with (1) or the applicable collective bargaining agreement (CBA) on a pro rata basis. Vacation leave accrual will be proportionate to the number of hours in pay status, in the month to that required for full-time employment.

Pay status includes hours worked, time on paid leave and paid holiday.

As provided in , an employer may authorize a lump-sum accrual of vacation leave or accelerate the vacation leave accrual rate to support the recruitment and/or retention of a candidate or employee for a Washington Management Service position. Vacation leave accrual rates may only be accelerated using the rates established WAC 357-31-165.

Note: Most agencies follow the civil service rules covering leave and holidays for exempt employees even though there is no requirement for them to do so. However, agencies are required to adhere to the applicable RCWs pertaining holidays and leave.

Military Leave
Washington State supports members of the armed forces with 21 days paid military leave per year.

Bereavement Leave
Most employees whose family member or household member dies, are entitled to three (3) days of paid bereavement leave. In addition, the employer may approve other available leave types for the purpose of bereavement leave.
