Job Summary:
RxLogix Corporation Ltd is seeking a Business Development Director to spearhead the growth of our consulting sales, specifically targeting opportunities that follow SaaS license sales. This role will focus on driving sales related to our pharmacovigilance software, encompassing initial implementation, consulting, managed services, and post-implementation support. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in business development within the life sciences industry and a comprehensive understanding of consulting and managed services.
Key Responsibilities:
Consulting Sales Management:
Initial Implementation:
Work with the product sales team to transition clients from license acquisition to the initial implementation phase, often bundled with the license.
Ensure that consulting services for initial implementation are tailored to client needs, facilitating an effective deployment of the solution.
Consulting Services:
Drive sales of consulting services, including strategic advisory, process optimization, and system configuration.
Develop and deliver proposals that address client needs for strategic consulting and operational improvements.
Managed Services:
Promote and sell managed services, including ongoing support, maintenance, and system optimization.
Create and present proposals for managed services that address client needs for continuous support and effective system management.
Post-Implementation Services:
Identify and develop opportunities for additional consulting services, such as change management, upgrades, and process improvements, following the initial implementation.
Prepare and present proposals to address these post-implementation needs effectively.
Client Relationship Management:
Build and nurture strong relationships with key client stakeholders to ensure high levels of satisfaction throughout the consulting and managed services lifecycle.
Serve as the primary point of contact for consulting-related inquiries and issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
Provide strategic guidance and support to clients to maximize the value derived from RxLogix’s consulting and managed services.
Collaboration with Presales and Solutions Teams:
Partner with the presales team to align consulting services with client requirements identified during the sales process.
Collaborate with the solutions team to develop customized service offerings, including scoping and defining Statements of Work (SoWs), ensuring alignment with client needs and expectations.
Facilitate a seamless transition from presales activities to consulting and managed services delivery, ensuring effective handovers and coordination.
Key Deliverables:
Develop and deliver comprehensive proposals, including Statements of Work (SoWs), for consulting and managed services.
Prepare and present service-related documentation outlining scope, objectives, timelines, and costs to clients.
Oversee the creation and execution of service agreements, ensuring all terms are clearly defined and agreed upon.
Contract Management and Negotiation:
Lead contract negotiations for consulting and managed services, ensuring favorable terms for RxLogix while meeting client needs.
Finalize service agreements and ensure all documentation is accurate and compliant.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field; an advanced degree (e.g., MBA) is a plus.
12-15 years of experience in business development, sales, or consulting within the life sciences industry, with a focus on consulting and managed services in a SaaS environment.
Proven track record of success in managing and expanding consulting and managed services following SaaS license sales.
Strong understanding of pharmacovigilance processes, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Excellent relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior-level decision-makers.
Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including presales and solutions, and manage multiple priorities.
Willingness to travel as needed to support client engagements and industry events.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with RxLogix’s consulting services or similar offerings in the pharmacovigilance and drug safety space.
Knowledge of SaaS-based solutions, cloud technologies, and enterprise software.
Experience in managing consulting engagements and leading service delivery projects.
