I'm partnered with a Fortune 500, multi-billion-dollar global manufacturing company located near Niles, IL. As one of the largest and most respected suppliers in their niche, they are seeking an Accountant to join their expanding team.

Reporting directly to the Controller, the Accountant will oversee the general ledger for assigned accounts. This role involves collaborating with both the finance and operations teams to ensure accurate accounting and reporting, drive sustainable process improvements, tackle business challenges, and evaluate the impact of new business initiatives.

Job Description

Accountant Responsibilities:
  • Execute month-end close procedures and prepare accurate financial reports.
  • Partner on identifying and implementing enhancements to accounting and operational work flows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and effectively convey financial data to key stakeholders.
  • Conduct timely and precise reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, ensuring all balances are adequately supported.
  • Oversee critical accounts, including prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, intercompany transactions, payroll accruals, and related areas.
  • Manage benefits and insurance processes, including re-billing and account reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate balances for extended warranty programs and insurance-related accounts.
  • Reconcile and oversee loan accounts to ensure proper management and reporting.
  • Provide required documentation and support for both internal and external audits.
  • Create ad-hoc reports and contribute to various special projects as needed.

The Successful Applicant
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Strong experience working in a previous Accounting position (minimum of 2 years)
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Understanding and application of accounting principles/practices
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks are necessary, along with effective communication skills.
  • An individual who demonstrates a growth mindset with a proactive approach, consistently taking initiative in tasks and seeking opportunities for improvement.
