Job Description
Job Title: IP Network Engineer
Location: Dallas, TX (Onsite from Day 1)
CCNA certification along with experience on IS-IS, MPLS, BGP, OSPF along with experience on 4G or 5G wireless networks
Client is transforming the future of connectivity. Client is building the country's first virtualized, standalone 5G wireless network from scratch. The foundation of a connected world, it's a network free of the limitations of the past, and flexible enough to satisfy all the social, economic and transformative needs of the changing world.
The Transport Provisioning Department is responsible for Client's network provisioning, circuit design, inventory management, and number procurement activities. The Senior Transport position will be responsible for the circuit order submission, ASR ordering, managing orders of multiple vendors through their respective portals and managing the department's standards and procedures of all Transport tools and systems supporting Client's transport service delivery
Day-to-day job responsibilities:
• Participate in evaluation, testing, selection, and deployment of foundational network elements for a nationwide greenfield network buildout
• Ensure that solutions adhere to defined standards and best practices and/or assist in the development of these standards and best practices.
• Research, analyze, test, retest, and troubleshoot complex problems
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, with strict deadlines, both as an individual contributor and team player
• Participate in knowledge transfer, documentation and information sharing while staying abreast of new technology/technical areas
• Coordinate ordering and implementation of transport between vendors and deployment teams
• Manage and maintain an inventory of active transport services including NNIs and XCs
• Manage escalations and expedite with vendors to ensure timely service delivery
• Coordinate input of network data into industry databases and associated reporting
• Address issues and questions from implementation and operations groups
• Assist with vendor relations and communications
• Track metrics and work with different vendors to ensure SLA compliance
• Assist in resolving cell site router configuration issues
• Ability to lead a call Grooming circuit from one router to another
Skills, Experience and Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• 13+ years in the Telecom industry
• Long/Mid haul, NNI provisioning and testing
• Telecom vendor management experience
• Good understanding of data and voice network architecture
• Advanced understanding of telecom ordering processes
• Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Suite
• Ability to identify and understand complex problems/issues and develop solutions
• Ability to manage multiple commitments simultaneously
• Excellent attention to details
• Outstanding organizational and analytical skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Able to work independently and inside a team
• Understanding of Cisco routing commands
• Professional networking certifications is must - CCNA/CCNP/CCIE or equivalent
