Job RequirementsExperience or 'Must have' skills: Will need to be able to read and interpret telemetry. May be asked to precept nursing students.Dysrhythmia exam on hire. Minimum of 1 year in MedSurg, prefer candidates with experience in telemetry. Must be willing to care for both MST/PCU patients
Schedule InformationShifts & Scheduling: 12-hour shifts, 0700/1900 – 1930/0730Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, Friday and Saturday for Nights, Saturday and Sunday for dayshift.Holiday Requirement: Holiday rotation to distribute holidays fairlyIs there a call or standby requirement?: If low census, staff rotates standby turns. Travelers may or may not be in rotation for low census depending on contract.Floating Requirements: Float into our Multi Care Unit & Pediatric unit to care for adult MST, also float to our West Campus MedSurg Tele.
Unit Specific Information# of beds: 30 (we have three 10-bed units)Ratios: 1:5-6Common diagnoses/Types of patients Surgical: total hip & knee replacement, small bowel resection, hysterectomy, exploratory lap.Medical: MRSA, C-diff infections, suicide attempt, drug or alcohol withdrawal, COPD, pneumonia, COVIDCharge Nurse/House Supervisor: Charge RN manages 50 inpatient beds that include MST, PEDS, & our Acuity Adaptable MCU unit which admits ICU/PCU/MSTAre there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: NAs take 10-15 patients. If no NA RN takes 3 patients and Provides primary care.
