AWS Well Architect

Responsibilities : - Conduct comprehensive AWS Well Architected Reviews, evaluating applications and infrastructure against all six pillars : Operational Excellence, Security, Reliability, Performance Efficiency, Cost Optimization, and Sustainability. - Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of AWS architecture, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance standards. - Drive cost optimization efforts, identifying opportunities for budget reduction without compromising on quality or reliability. - Establish, document, and enforce cloud architecture standards and practices. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AWS best practices, enhancing system performance, reliability, and security. - Provide mentorship and guidance on AWS cloud architecture principles to engineering teams. - Keep up to date with the latest AWS services and feature releases, assessing their potential impact and integration within the existing architecture. Key Result Areas (KRAs) : - Successful completion of AWS Well Architected Reviews with actionable recommendations - Demonstrable cost savings through effective cloud cost management practices - Reduction in infrastructure-related incidents through enhanced reliability measures - Improved security posture and compliance with industry standards - Effective knowledge sharing and mentorship, building AWS expertise across the team - Increased sustainability of cloud resources through efficient resource management Technical Skills : - Proficiency in AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, CloudFormation, and CloudWatch - Extensive knowledge of AWS Well Architected Framework and cloud architecture best practices - Expertise in cost management tools like AWS Cost Explorer, AWS Budgets, and Reserved Instances - Strong understanding of security services, including AWS WAF, Shield, KMS, and CloudTrail - Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and AWS CloudFormation - Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g. CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus) - Knowledge of compliance standards like GDPR, HIPAA, and SOC 2 (ref:hirist.tech)
