Test Engineer - Manual/Automation Testing

Position brief : The Test Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software applications by executing manual and automated tests, identifying defects, and working closely with the development team to resolve issues. The role will drive the execution of comprehensive test strategies, covering functional, nonfunctional, regression, and performance testing, ensuring that software meets both user and business requirements. The role is responsible for maintaining test environments, creating detailed test cases, executing test scripts, and ensuring traceability between test cases and requirements. Location : New Delhi Primary Role & Responsibilities : The primary role of the candidate will be : - Analyse software requirements and create detailed test cases that cover functional and nonfunctional requirements. - Execute manual and automated tests, including functional, regression, integration, performance, security, and user acceptance tests. - Identify, document, and track defects, providing detailed reports to the development team and management. - Retest resolved defects and perform regression testing after updates or bug fixes. - Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts to improve test coverage and efficiency. - Work closely with software developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure test coverage and timely resolution of defects. - Provide clear and concise testing results and status updates to stakeholders. - Set up and manage test environments, ensuring they are reflective of production environments. - Ensure that appropriate test data is generated and maintained for testing activities. - Create and maintain detailed documentation of test cases, scripts, procedures, and defect reports. - Ensure traceability of test cases to requirements and ensure that all test activities are well documented. Required Soft Skills : - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to testing. - Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. - Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities. Working Experience and Qualification : - Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field. - Experience : Proven experience of 4-6 years as a Test Engineer, QA Engineer, or in a similar role in software testing. - Experience in both manual and automated testing environments. Skills : - Strong knowledge of testing methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail). - Proficient in writing and executing SQL queries for database testing. - Familiarity with automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, TestNG, JUnit). - Experience with performance and load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner). - Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and integration with testing tools. Preferred Skills : - Experience with scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, Java). - Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI). - Experience with cloud-based testing environments. - Experience with automation tools (e.g., Selenium, TestNG, JUnit).
