HDFC Securities - Application/Production Support Engineer

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : 1. Responsible for up time & incident management for defined IT applications and make sure that the systems and applications are always working. 2. Administer and manage applications running under LINUX /AIX/Solaris/Windows based systems, including configuration, troubleshooting, and automation. 3. Identifying the root causes of incidents in order to prevent future recurrence 4. Monitor applications & databases for system behavior and analyze performance, Errors / Alerts / Notifications, database connections / blocking processes & resolve issues. 5. Serve as a focal point to communicate, coordinate & resolve application /interface / integration issues with vendors and other teams 6. Responsible for deployment & movement of application code / bug fixes / data patches and release management in Production, SIT and UAT environments in coordination with vendors 7. Execution of O.S and DB patching for the defined IT applications. 8. Work on assigned projects/tasks as assigned by the management and team leader. 9. Conduct regular bug/issue tracker review meetings & coordinate with vendor/BSG for problem resolution and follow-ups 10. Coordinate the review, presentation and release of all SLA deliverable and other documentation pertaining to defined applications 11. Ensure that all team members / Vendor (i.e. Technical Analysts/executives / Programmers) perform the delegated tasks according to set timelines. 12. Preparing Application process documents/ KB documents 13. Assist team in achieving best possible design solution for functional requirements 14. Collection of necessary data for MIS preparation for applications 15. Attending Change Control Board meetings & planning the production movement. 16. Reviewing KB documents & publishing the same to IT Operations Team. 17. Reporting of daily activities to Project Manager, monitor and on need basis escalate issues as appropriate. WORK EXPERIENCE : 1. 3-6 years' experience that is relevant in LINUX / UNIX/Oracle platforms, preferably with BFSI segment; in a high-volume or critical production application environment. 2. Hands-on experience in the area of installation, configuration, monitoring and management of Applications & Databases in Linux / UNIX systems. 3. Experience in application server log analysis, troubleshooting, management and problem solving. 4. Experience in managing MEAP (Mobile Enterprise Applications Platform) services and hands-on experience in deployment & management of Application servers, Back-end services etc. for Mobile Applications. TECHNICAL SKILLS : 1. Excellent knowledge in Linux, Unix, Solaris & Windows Operating systems and Applications 2. Excellent knowledge in Web-App servers (WebLogic, Web Sphere, JBoss, Apache Tomcat) 3. Knowledge in RDBMS - Oracle / Sybase / MySQL/ MSSQL / DB2 - Other and SQL Query 4. Good skills in PL/SQL Linux scripting languages; Shell scripting 5. Basic Networking knowledge, should be able to troubleshoot issues with minimum guidance and support 6. Problem solving skills 7. Awareness / Exposure to BFSI segment would be a plus SOFT SKILLS : 1. Ability to prioritize effectively and handle shifting priorities professionally 2. Good written and oral communications skills 3.
