US Property Binder Class/Lead Underwriter –

My client who is an established and growing Lloyd’s Syndicate, is expanding its Property portfolio with the launch of a new US-focused Property division, They have ambitious goals and are looking for someone to play a key role in achieving them. This dynamic syndicate seeks to recruit an established and ambitious US Property Binder Underwriter

About the Role:

As a Class/Lead Property Underwriter, you will lead and develop the US Property Account, where you will Underwrite both new and renewal business, manage the existing portfolios as well as drive all new business opportunities. Working closely with the Head of Property as well as cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead new business onboarding and renewals for US property binding authority accounts.
• Collaborate with syndicate departments, including actuarial, claims, and compliance.
• Monitor binder portfolio performance and implement necessary updates.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with coverholders, brokers, and other key stakeholders.
• Contribute to cross-class initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
• Take ownership of day-to-day referral underwriting for relevant property binding authority accounts within individual underwriting authority parameters

Experience

• 5+ underwriting experience in US property Binders
• Strong understanding of the US property market.
• Ideally progression towards ACII (or working towards) is preferred.
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
