We are looking for talented, motivated and ambitious team members to revolutionize robotic surgery.About The TeamNoah's Instruments and Accessories (I&A) Team is responsible for the development of endoluminal instruments and accessories that are safe, effective and on-time. Noah Medical I&A team members have the traditional role of design and prototyping but also take the lead on design requirements, specifications, design risk assessment, test methods, verification testing and more. I&A also plays a critical cross functional role in support through production and even post-market performance assessments. We welcome diverse thinkers and value both experience and fresh ideas.The Staff Mechanical Engineer will apply their experience in championing exploration, design, and assessments of novel user input devices. The Staff Engineer will drive their concepts through definition, ideation, engineering, and clinically relevant assessments. When necessary to expedite the pathway for concepts to market, the Staff Mechanical Engineer will take the lead on design requirements, specifications, risk assessments, test method development, verification testing and more. In this capacity, the Staff Mechanical Engineer will work collaboratively and cross functionally to expedite solutions to market.A Day In The Life Of Our Staff Mechanical Engineer, User InputsCreate and maintain design documentation including CAD models, detailed drawings, manufacturing instructions and theoretical models of user input devicesExercise DFM (design for manufacturability), DFA (design for assembly), and DFU (design for usability) principles, simplifying manufacture while also ensuring usability, durability and cleanability for clinical environmentsCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, and clinical advisors, to integrate mechanical components with electronic and software systemsDevelop fixtures to aid in the assembly, calibration and testing of user input devices.Develop specifications, test methods, and protocols to ensure the functionality, safety, and efficacy of medical devices in accordance with medical device regulationsWork closely with the manufacturing team and technicians to transition from prototype to production, addressing any design for manufacturing or design for assembly challenges.Work collaboratively and efficiently in a fast-paced start-up environment with minimal supervision and guidanceServe as an example of the Noah Medical Culture to the team, foster a collaborative environment, and facilitate career development opportunities for the teamAbout YouBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or other related disciplines) or an advanced degree with required years of directly related experience (B.S. +8 yrs.; M.S.+6 yrs.; PhD+4 yrs.).8 years of experience in the design of complex mechanical systems with at least 4 years of experience in designing/developing medical devicesExperience in developing electromechanical devices, preferentially with exposure to hand-held user input devicesDemonstrated understanding of medical electrical equipment standards such as IEC 60601 and IEC 62366Advanced SolidWorks user with at least 5 years of experience using SolidWorks, surfacing experience desiredExperience designing injection molded componentsPCB mechanical layout experience and ability to collaborate with EE's on PCB designsAble to independently assess complex problems and situations to move projects forwardDemonstrated ability to generate original ideas with a history of relevant patents and IPExcellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and negotiation skills; friendly and approachable.Strong team player with a demonstrated history of success working in a multi-disciplinary, cross-functional environmentAbility to travel 10% of the timeWorkplace Type: Onsite Benefits & Perks (For Full Time Employees):Competitive SalaryComprehensive health insurance including Medical, Dental and Vision + HSA and FSA optionsEquity & Bonus ProgramLife Insurance (company paid & supplemental) and Disability insuranceMental health support through medical insurance programsLegal and Pet Insurance12+ paid holidays, 15-20 days of PTO + use-what-you-need sick daysPaid parental leaveIn-office snacks and beverages In-office lunch stipendLearning & Development Opportunities: On-demand online training and book reimbursementTeam building and company organized social and celebration eventsPay TransparencyThe Pay Range for this position is listed. Consistent with applicable laws, an employee's pay within this range is based on a number of factors which include but are not limited to relevant education, skills, job-related knowledge, qualifications, work experience, credentials, and/or geographic location of the posted role. Noah Medical reserves the right to modify this range as needed based on candidate experience level and/or specialized skills. Please note that the aforementioned range is only one component of the position's total compensation package.California Pay Range$135,900-$186,900 USDNoah Medical may offer remote, hybrid, or onsite work arrangements within the state of California depending on the specific team and/or role where applicable.
